The bookseller Carl Kollhoff (Christoph Maria Herbst) wraps books in paper every day to bring them to the homes of his loyal customers. For the introverted man, his customers are the most important connection to the outside world and almost something like friends. His daily errands are therefore an important routine for him. One day, a little girl (Yuna Bennett) follows him and accompanies him on his delivery. At first, Carl is not at all enthusiastic about talking to the girl and so it happens that she accompanies him regularly - the shy man begins to open up. Together they embark on an unexpected journey in which Carl deals with his past and discovers new friendships and experiences.

Based on the novel of the same name by Carsten Henn.
