Lisa Stoll – alphorn
Jitka Baštová – accordion
Jindřich Macek – lute

The three instruments could not be more different – and yet they complement and support each other so perfectly that a wonderful harmony is created. The audience can look forward to a colourful mixture of works from the 17th to the 20th century.

Swiss and Czech character are musically combined in a program with compositions by John Dowland, George Frideric Handel, Robert de Visée, Antonio Vivaldi, Astor Piazzolla, Hans-Jürg Sommer, Steffen Burkhardt, Jindřich Macek.

Lisa Stoll (alphorn) began her musical career at the age of 6 by playing the recorder. Two years later she picked up the cornet and thus began her great passion for brass music. After only two years she plays in a music school band and at the age of 11 she lands in 1st place in her category at the Eastern Swiss Soloist Competition. This was followed by various engagements in the Bürgermusik Trasadingen, the Trombone Choir Hallau and the Stadtharmonie Schaffhausen. Parallel to the cornet, Lisa discovers the alphorn at the age of 10. The sound fascinates Lisa so much that she also plays at a high level within a very short time. In 2008 she won the jury prize at the 15th Swiss Young Folklore Competition with her own composition "s'Vreni vom Dorf". In 2009, at the age of 13, she celebrated great success with the classical program «des Mädchens Wunderhorn» under the direction of Paul W. Taylor (alphorn and string orchestra). In September 2009 she took part in the Musikantenstadl's young talent competition with Carlo Brunner's composition «Tanz der Kühe». She makes it to the 1st place and thus takes part in the final in the Silvesterstadl. Here she wins and takes home the "Stadlstern 2009" award for young talent. With Carlo Brunner and Alex Eugster, Lisa produces her first own CDs. In January 2010 her 1st CD «Alphornliebe» will be released, in July 2011 the 2nd CD «Alphornflirt» and in August 2015 the 3rd CD «Alphornperlen». A big thank you goes to all her musical teachers: Maja Hauser, Julia Hedinger, Samuel Ruh and Václav Medlík.

National and international performances: Musikantenstadl, Starnacht Interlaken, Winteropenair Bad Kleinkirchheim, Donauinselfest Wien, Openair Heitere, Openair Flumserberg, Heirassa Festival Weggis, Aeschbacher, Benissimo, Samschtig Jass, Hopp dä Bäse, Zoge-n-am Bogä, Schlagersommer, performances in Dubai, Kuwait, London, Czech Republic etc.

Lisa Stoll performs in the project «Kontraste», together with lute player Jindřich Macek and accordion player Jitka Baštová.

Jitka Baštová (accordion) studied accordion playing at the Conservatory in Pardubice from 2004 to 2009 in the class of Professor Irena Holomková. During her studies she moved from piano accordion to chromatic button accordion. This Italian instrument, brand Scandalli, made as a commissioned work, is very exceptional due to fine timbre and delicate and full tones. After graduating from the conservatory, Jitka Baštová was accepted to the University of Music in Bratislava, where she completed her studies in 2014 – as a master's degree – with Professor Boris Lenk. In 2013 she studied accordion at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki as part of an international student exchange, where she studied accordion playing under the direction of Prof. Matti Rantanen. Already as a student she took part in several competitions. Currently, Jitka Baštová works as a teacher at the Music School in Havlíčkův Brod, where she founded an accordion playing class in the Přibyslav branch in 2008. She performs as an accordion player not only solo, but also in chamber concerts. Her repertoire consists mainly of original compositions for accordion. She also likes to interpret compositions taken over by older authors.

Jindřich Macek (lute) won several prizes in guitar competitions during his studies, e.g. the. 1st prize in the national round of the guitar competition in Kutná Hora with a special award of the jury for the interpretation of baroque music. In 1993 he graduated from the Conservatory in Pardubice with Prof. Stanislav Juřica and continued his lute studies in the same class; he concluded this with his graduation concert in Hradec Králové in June 1999. Currently, Jindřich Macek is the director of the music school in Havlíčkův Brod. He performs as a soloist, but also as a lute player in various chamber ensembles. In concert he collaborates with the mezzo-soprano Pavla Fendrichová in the interpretation of Renaissance and Baroque songs with lute accompaniment. With the guitar player Iveta Novotnà he realizes the project «Strings in the course of time» and with the flutist Silvie Mechová «Wanderings through the musical landscape». He works with accordion player Jitka Baštová in the programme «When lute strings swing and the accordion conjures up», «La Brise de France», «In Patches», «Kontraste», «Renaissance touches» and «An angel was sent to the Lord...» together. Of great importance is the collaboration with the Czech actor and reciter Alfred Strejček entitled "Alchemy of Love". It organizes educational concerts under the title "The lute introduces itself", which are intended for the pupils of primary and secondary schools. His playing has repeatedly thrilled German, Swiss, Finnish, Dutch, Italian, Slovenian, Hungarian, Slovak, Croatian and American audiences. He has performed at music festivals in the Czech Republic and abroad. He actively participated in master classes at the guitar festivals in Mikulov (e.g. in the class of P. Steidl, L. Witoszynski, J. Wagner), as well as the early music courses in Valtice (class of the English lutenist B. Wright) and Ljubljana (Slovenia; A. Kröper). He also gained valuable experience in the interpretation course of the Japanese lute player S. Noiri. In 2005 he graduated from the Academy of Early Music at the Faculty of Philosophy of Masaryk University in Brno in the class of Miloslav Študent.
