Festival Chavas 2023

Dear friends,

the horse on the most beautiful meadow in Scuol stands still, but we don't. As the cycle predicts, we dance together to sounds of nature and vibrant tunes, on the 7th month of the year. Breathing fresh mountain air, enjoying togetherness and briefly escape from everyday life. The Festival Chavas 2023 is taking place, in the middle of the forest surrounded by breathtaking nature. Bain -Crotsch in Scuol lies on an incredible clearing in the Lower Engadine, which will be our home for three days and two nights. The festival is organized on a voluntary and non-profit oriented basis. It is aimed at all people who care not only about music, art and nature in all its facets, but also about respect and tolerance.

How to get there

Our meadow is located close to the national park about five kilometers above Scuol and and is accesible via shuttles from Scuol-Tarasp station. We ask you to use public transport if possible. For the arrival with a private car/camper a special ticket is needed, the access to te area is only possible with a cantonal driver's license. From Zurich we recommend to take the train at 12:38 on friday, daylight is the easiest time to set up camp.

Tickets

The tickets are available on ticketino.ch. Since we want to keep this event in a rather intimate way, the number of tickets is limited to 500 in total, of which 350 are camping tickets. If you can't afford a ticket for understandable reasons, please contact us. Money should not be an exclusion criterion at this place. contact:festival.chavas@gmail.com

Catering

From noon until late, vegetarian and vegan meals will be offered. Our bar offers all kinds of drinks and little snacks. At the (C)Alma tent you can find a light breakfast with crossaints, fruits, tea and coffee. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own food and beverages, there are barbecue areas on the field. (Usable only if there is no danger of forest fire). In Scuol there is a Coop as well as a Denner. There is a village shop "Volg" in the centre, which is open on Sundays.

Infrastructure

Sufficient and clean sanitary facilities and access to drinking and washing water will be provided on site. Please note, this does not include shower facilities. The festival will be open to visitors from friday 3 pm to sunday 6 pm. Please also keep in mind that it can get cold at night. Payment is accepted by card, cash or Twint (Postfinance is not accepted). In Scuol there are cash machines at the train station, in the centre of the village, and a Postfinance machine at the Coop.

Awareness + nature

At Festival Chavas we wish to treat each other with respect, as well as the nature that surrounds us. Any discrimination, whether sexism, homophobia, transphobia, racism, misogyny, ableism and all other forms of encroaching behaviour and violence will not be tolerated. We act by consensus, only yes means yes! Please communicate your boundaries, respect your own and everyone else's. Consume responsibly! Please contact people with an orange ribbon or festival staff if you notice or experience something unpleasant. Any disregard will result in an exclusion from the event.

We are located in an agricultural clearing and therefore wish that the meadow can regenerate as quickly as possible after our festival. Please take pocket ashtrays with you and make sure that glass bottles remain whole. The smaller the waste (broken glass, cigarette butts, beer coasters, herring, etc.), the more difficult it is to remove it. In addition to the waste disposal points, you can pick waste bags up at the bar.
