Sam Fabelman's (Gabriel LaBelle, Predator – Upgrade) passion is filmmaking – an interest that his art-loving mother Mitzi (four-time Oscar® nominee Michelle Williams, Manchester by the Sea) appreciates and encourages. Sam's father Burt (Paul Dano, There Will Be Blood), on the other hand, a successful engineer, approves of Sam's work, but considers it nothing more than a hobby. But the fascination for moving images does not let go of the young Sam. In increasingly elaborate film productions, the up-and-coming director puts his sisters and friends in the limelight. But when the Fabelmans move and there is turbulence within the family, Sam has to reflect more than ever on his love of cinema and the power of movies in order not to lose sight of his dreams.
