444.03: National Park Bike Tour 3rd stage Livigno - S-chanf
Show all 4 images
The route leads first to Valle Federia, then to Rifugio Casanna and over the Chaschauna Pass (2694m). The ascent from Val Federia to the pass is very steep and offers a few sliding passages. The descent to Alp Chaschauna is initially very steep and somewhat difficult. Unsafe bikers descend better for the 15 or so turns. The subsequent descent from Alp Chaschauna (2210m) to S-chanf (1665m) runs on the well-developed Alpstrasse and compensates for the rigours of the ascent.
Since this summer, there is a newly developed single trail from the Chaschauna Pass, which is already signposted. Please note that the old trail is still marked here in the map and online.
On high-altitude sections, snowfields are possible until the summer months.
The tour was evaluated in favorable weather conditions, the current weather conditions and weather forecasts must be observed before the start of the tour. This tour does not place any special demands on driving safety and technical skills.

Be considerate when crossing and overtaking hikers.
The Grisons mountain bike routes run to a large extent on single trails, which are also signposted as hiking trails. Hikers always have priority.
