An ideal hike for families. The children are looking forward to the marmots and the fountain on the Alp la Schera, the adults enjoy the interesting flora, the numerous forest anthills and the magnificent view towards Livigno and Val da l'Acqua. The hike crosses typical mountain pine forests for the Swiss National Park with numerous trees lying on the ground and rotting

Note: The carrying of dogs is not allowed in the Swiss National Park, even on a leash. For more information and all protections, see

A simple hike, also suitable for children.

The hike starts at the large information board west of the tunnel portal at the customs house la Drossa, right at car park 4 on the Ofenpass road and the Postbus stop Punt la Drossa (P4) (1706 m above sea level.M.). The first narrow path winds along the mountain flank into the air and then becomes increasingly wider. Soon the saddle between the Munt la Schera and the small, wooded Piz la Schera is reached. At the junction (1828 m above sea level.M), the route turns left towards the southeast and gradually continues to rise. Through the forest and over a long clearing, the path soon reaches Alp la Schera (2091 m above sea level.M.). From here, the route takes the same route back to Punt la Drossa. Variants are an extension towards Munt la Schera-Buffalora or a circular hike to Il Fuorn (see route «Munt la Schera»).
