Across the Alps in seven days.
The 4 Countries Alpine Crossing
Crossing the Alps – tradition and the present day
For centuries, paths across the Alps have connected cultural areas, languages and ways of life. The Engadin has always been part of these crossings – as a trade route, a meeting place and a link between north and south.
The 4-country Alpine crossing ties in with this and brings this history to life today: on easily manageable stages through Bavaria, Tyrol, Graubünden and South Tyrol.
The last two stages lead through the Lower Engadin and on to Val Müstair. Wide valleys, Engadin houses with sgraffito and traditional village centres characterise the landscape. Here, the Alpine crossing becomes quieter and more unspoilt – before leading over the main Alpine ridge to Italy.
