Romanesque showcase village
Ardez
The ruins of Steinsberg Castle tower high above Ardez. In the village, sgraffito decorations adorn the Engadine houses, while farms and wide meadows characterise the landscape. Surrounded by mountains and close to Val Tasna and the Inn Gorge, Ardez enchants visitors with its tranquillity, natural beauty and particularly picturesque village.
Small, quiet places, gentle tourism.
Mountaineering villages
Mountaineering villages are small, quiet places dedicated to sustainable tourism. Their great potential lies in their unspoilt nature, high-quality natural and cultural landscape, and diverse mountain sports opportunities. Since 2021, the three villages of Lavin, Guarda and Ardez have been officially part of the mountaineering villages.
