6. Engadiner Architekturtage: Anders wohnen?

The Engadine Architecture Days are entering their sixth edition, under the title "Living differently?". Housing in the Engadine is scarce and increasingly expensive, and second homes are potentially displacing permanent residents. Current projects and initiatives for affordable housing provide an opportunity to explore the question of how affordable housing can be created in the Engadine. To what extent does this require political action? What are the potentials of bottom-up initiatives? What forms of society and housing are there with this goal? What demands do collective forms of housing place on architecture? The focus is on cooperative housing, which has a long tradition in the cities and has proven its worth. But the Alpine region also has such a tradition of collective organisation and sharing with alp, dairy and cheese dairy cooperatives. Can it be transferred to housing? At the Architecture Days, initiators and architects from the Engadine and Swiss cities share their positions, ideas and experiences.
