Cinema Staziun Lavin - LE CITTA DI PIANURA

LE CITTA DI PIANURA
2025 / Director: Francesco Sossai

Carlobianchi and Doriano, two penniless fifty-year-olds, are friends who navigate their alcohol-soaked days with equal parts optimism and cunning. Their goal is always to have one last drink. They’re actually on their way to the airport to pick up their old friend Genio, who has been living in Argentina for a long time. But they’re in no hurry. When they meet Giulio, a shy architecture student, at a college party, the sociable drinking buddies take him under their wing. Giulio really just wants to go home to cram for an exam, but he can’t escape their persistence. On their road trip through Veneto, the unlikely trio experiences curious chance encounters and adventurous moments. The bittersweet comedy *Le città di pianura* was a box-office hit in Italy and won six David di Donatello Awards this year, including Best Film and Best Director.
