Piz Amalia Music Festival Supporters' Club
1. Goals
The Piz Amalia Club is an association of supporters dedicated to the annual Piz Amalia Music Festival in the Lower Engadine, as well as to initiatives that foster exceptional young musical talent from the Netherlands and Switzerland—most notably projects supported by the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.
Furthermore, the club facilitates a vibrant cultural exchange between the Netherlands and Switzerland and serves as an inspiring, sport-oriented meeting point for its members.
Members of the Piz Amalia Club gather annually at the Piz Amalia Music Festival in the Lower Engadine and at the Piz Amalia concert in The Hague. As a special initiation ritual, prospective members must ascend Piz Amalia before being admitted to the club.
2. Memberships
The Piz Amalia Club offers three types of membership: members, aspirants, and patrons.
Members
Membership is open to anyone who has climbed the 2,918-meter-high Piz Amalia at least once. To this end, an ascent of Piz Amalia—a challenging mountain trek—is organized annually as part of the Piz Amalia Festival, led by one or more mountain guides. The services of these mountain guides are included in the initial membership fee. Following the ascent, new members are ceremoniously inducted into the club.
Membership is limited to a maximum of 100 individuals.
Members support the Piz Amalia Music Festival—as well as other initiatives, most notably those of the Royal Conservatory—that nurture exceptional young musical talent from the Netherlands and Switzerland, by making an annual contribution of at least €600.
Members of the Piz Amalia Club are invited to the following events:
- Two concerts featuring outstanding young musical talents, held as part of the Piz Amalia Music Festival in the Lower Engadine
- A Piz Amalia concert featuring young musicians in The Hague
- The Piz Amalia Club’s annual general meeting
Members are acknowledged on the Piz Amalia Music Festival website and on a permanent Piz Amalia Club plaque in Scuol.
