Konzert in der Kirche Sent | MUSIK AUS DEN ANDEN – MUSIK AUS DEN ALPEN
Description
Vera Schocher and Riet Buchli – guitars
A musical journey that combines the sounds of the Grisons Alps with the rhythms of the Andes; the numerous emigrants from Europe to Latin America led to musical contacts and exchanges, and new stylistic variants developed, such as Vals and Tango.
Songs from the homeland of Vera Schocher and Riet Buchli, the Safien Valley, the Lower and Upper Engadin alternate with music from the Andes - with the typical rhythms from milonga to zamba to vals and tango.
Vera Schocher completed her studies with Jury Clormann (University of Music Zurich-Winterthur) with the completion of the guitar teaching diploma. Further studies and master classes followed, as well as flamenco guitar with Mariano Martin. In addition to teaching at the Chur Music School and the Chur University of Education, she regularly performs in various chamber music ensembles, including with her husband Eckart Fritz and for over 30 years in a guitar duo with Riet Buchli.
Riet Buchli earned his teaching diploma for guitar from Jury Clormann (Musikhochschule Zürich-Winterthur). He continued his studies with Anders Miolin at the University of Music and Theatre in Zurich and graduated with a concert diploma in 2003.
He teaches at the music school in Chur and Landquart and the surrounding area.
Riet Buchli performs with his wife Tina Engewald (soprano), Agnes Byland (violin) and for over 30 years in a guitar duo with Vera Schocher.
