Gudrun Sidonie Otto is one of the most versatile sopranos of her generation and inspires with her "lightly feminine noble timbre" (FonoForum) and "her fresh and at the same time warm soprano" (Opernglas) at major opera houses and festivals worldwide, including the Komische Oper Berlin, Staatsoper Hannover, Staatstheater Nürnberg, Theater Würzburg, Theatre de Picardie, Grand Opera Luxembourg and Opéra National du Rhin Strasbourg under conductors such as Neville Marriner, Robert Gritton, Helmuth Rilling, Theodor Guschlbauer, Thomas Hengelbrock, Enoch zu Guttenberg, Peter Gülke, Ludwig Güttler and Klaas Stok.

1st Prize Chamber Opera Competition Schloss Rheinsberg (2007). Until 2006/07 permanent engagement at the Landesbühnen Sachsen. In addition to CDs with early music, highly acclaimed solo CDs with Telemann and Mendelssohn. In 2025, the Arcantus label released two critically acclaimed "Sternstunden aus dem Münster" (Music & Theatre) CDs together with the Basel cathedral organist Andreas Liebig: DE PROFUNDIS (arc 25050): Works by Bach, Reubke, Reger, Gubaidulina, Manneke, Nono, as well as NOSTALGIA: Brahms, Eleven Chorale Preludes op. Post. 122 and Dvořák, Biblical Songs op. 99 (arc 25051). DE PROFUNDIS is on the longlist of the German Record Critics' Award. Andreas Liebig has been the cathedral organist in Basel since 2014. After teaching in Lübeck and Oslo, he led the organ class of the Tyrolean State Conservatory in Innsbruck from 2013–15. Since 2018 at the Freiburg University of Music. Studied church music in Herford, 1983–89 majoring in organ, piano and music theory in Stuttgart with Ludger Lohmann, Adu Frederica Faiss and Helmut Lachenmann, among others. Further training in Cologne, Paris, Vienna, Lübeck and Freiburg with Michael Schneider, Daniel Roth, Hans and Martin Haselböck, Zsigmond Szathmáry and with Sergiu Celibidache in Mainz. 1988 1st prizes at the international organ competitions in Dublin and Odense.
