Making music since childhood, the Lutz Brothers continue their shared musical history in a program that is as varied as it is lively. Classical, jazz and popular music merge into an immediate concert experience carried by the joy of playing.

Rudolf (*1951) and Matthias (*1953) Lutz have been making music together since childhood. While it was the records of the "Golden Gate Quartet" that inspired them to play gospels at a young age (vocal duet with Matthias on the ukulele and Rudolf on the piano), as young adults they founded a band together with colleagues called "plebs". Jazz, pop, original compositions and folk music were performed at weddings and birthday parties. Soon after, their musical paths separated: Matthias Lutz studied saxophone and, in addition to his extensive band activities, worked as a music teacher at the Kantonsschule am Burggraben in St. Gallen. He was also Kapellmeister in the orchestra of the Knie Circus for a short time. His brother Rudolf Lutz became a church musician, choir and orchestra conductor and worked as a lecturer at several universities. It was only in later years that they began to work together again, mostly in a church setting for church services and concerts, during which the duo, now called the "Lutz Brothers", has built up a wide repertoire in various styles. In addition to classical and old time jazz (with a focus on the pieces of the legendary soprano saxophonist Sidney Bechet), they also play pop, rock and Latin groove. Their interaction is characterized by strong spontaneity, playfulness and emotion. They still do it with great enthusiasm. Their motto: "Keep Swinging"!
