Once persecuted and severely decimated, the charismatic golden eagle is now once again colonizing the entire Alpine region and also the Jura Arc. The eagle population has recovered so well that the Swiss mountains are now lined up with territory after territory. Natural self-regulation ensures adapted populations. In his lecture, David Jenny will present new research results from GPS-based studies and provide exciting insights into the life of this fascinating bird of prey. At the same time, he shows why the golden eagle must continue to be consistently protected despite its pleasing return. The lecture follows on from the book by David Jenny, Serge Denis and Heinrich Haller, which was published by Haupt-Verlag in 2025.
