Majestic, sure-footed and a symbolic animal of the Alps: the ibex has always impressed people. But his story is also one of survival. Almost extinct in the 19th century, it has only survived thanks to the efforts of the Italian kings and intensive breeding and protection measures. Today, there are again over 50,000 individuals in the Alpine region. But the ibex is confronted with new challenges: genetic consequences of near-extinction, climate change and increasing disturbances in the habitat. In his book, Flurin Filli sheds light on the eventful past and the uncertain future of this impressive animal species. On Wednesday, July 15, he will present this book to us and share his fascination with Capricorn with anecdotes and stories.
