The residents of Scuol support the renovation of the Büvetta Tarasp
Voting result
With 751 votes in favour and 294 against, around three-quarters of voters approved the proposal. This paves the way for an important step towards the restoration of the Büvetta Tarasp in Nairs after around 20 years of inactivity. The municipality is contributing around 3.7 million Swiss francs towards securing the slope, renovating the mineral spring installations and the adjacent Chasa Carola.
The journey towards the completion of the Büvetta Tarasp
The Büvetta Nairs Foundation is being established to implement the project. It will hold the building rights to the relevant plots for 60 years and will be responsible for the restoration and subsequent operation of the Büvetta.
The total cost of the project amounts to around 18 million Swiss francs. In addition to the contribution from the municipality, cantonal and national authorities have already pledged over 9 million Swiss francs. The remaining 4.5 million Swiss francs are to be raised by the foundation.
Timetable and next steps
The project is largely ready to go and the planning application has already been submitted. Ideally, construction work could begin as early as the end of this year. However, this is conditional on the financing being fully secured.
