Details
Description
The route starts in Scuol and leads through the old village part over the Gurlaina bridge towards San Jon/S-charl. On forest roads, it passes bright forests, rocks, and the Clemgia river, going further into the valley. The river forms the border to the adjacent National Park. It is common to see chamois, deer or other residents of the Swiss National Park searching for food along the way to Val S-charl. Arriving in the former mining village, the two inns invite you for a short break before continuing with a steady but gentle climb for about 7 km to Alp Astras. From there, the route 444 continues over the Pass da Costainas to Lü – first over trails up to the pass and then mostly on forest roads into the small village in the Münstertal. Now only the descent down to Tschierv remains and the stage destination is reached.
