Way of St. James (No. 43): Guarda – Ardez

Your hike begins in the mountain climbing village «Guarda», the well-known «Schellen-Ursli village», located on a sunny terrace high above the Inn. Typical Engadin architecture, local products and the story of Schellen-Ursli give the village a very special charm.

On a lightly trafficked road, you first walk almost flat to the hamlet of Bos-cha. Along the way, you will repeatedly enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountain landscape. Then the route gently leads you down the same road to Ardez, one of the best-preserved Engadin villages, known for its traditional Romanesque architecture. From afar, the striking castle ruins catch the eye – an impressive conclusion to the hike.
