Description

Before setting off for the National Park Hiking Tour, the National Park Centre in Zernez offers the opportunity to learn everything there is to know about the Swiss National Park. From Zernez, the first stage leads eastwards towards the Ofen Pass and outside the village at the covered wooden bridge over the Spöl. From there continue over old field terraces and through a sparse larch forest to the entrance of the Val Cluozza. The path is now steep. Zigzagging, the path leads steadily upwards past viewpoints that allow insights into the Cluozza Valley and the Quattervals massif. At the waypoint "II Prà" the path branches off to the south. Extensive pine trees are crossed and from time to time a look into the depth of the Cluozza Gorge can be dared. Continue downhill and after crossing some old pine-larch mixed forests, you will soon reach the stream where you cross the Ova da Cluozza over the wooden bridge. From there it goes again about 80 meters uphill to the idyllic day's destination Chamanna Cluozza.

Note: Dogs are not allowed in the Swiss National Park, not even on a leash. For more information and all protections, see nationalpark.ch/schutzbestimmungen.
