Zernez - Chamanna Cluozza

Before embarking on the National Park Hiking Tour, the National Park Centre in Zernez offers the opportunity to learn everything there is to know about the Swiss National Park. From Zernez, the first stage leads eastwards towards the Ofenpass and outside the village at the covered wooden bridge over the Spöl. From there, continue over old farm terraces and through a light larch forest to the entrance of the Val Cluozza. The path is now steep. In a zigzag, the trail leads steadily upwards past viewpoints, which allow insights into the Cluozza Valley and the Quattervals massif. At the waypoint "II Pré" the path branches off to the south. Extensive leg-tube stands are crossed and from time to time a view into the depths of the Cluozza Gorge can be dared. We continue downhill and after crossing some old pine-larch-mixed forests, the creek is soon reached, where one crosses the Ova da Cluozza via the wooden bridge. From there it goes another 80 meters uphill to the idyllic day destination Chamanna Cluozza.
Note: Dogs are not allowed in the Swiss National Park, even on a leash. For more information and all protections, see nationalpark.ch/schutzbestimmungen.
