Workshop: Freilichtzeichnen

Description

This one-day workshop introduces you to outdoor drawing. We’ll choose “a small corner” of nature, which we’ll observe and depict outdoors under natural light and shadow conditions. In doing so, we’ll focus not primarily on learning how to use a specific tool, but rather on developing a way of seeing that allows us to experience nature, recognize what’s essential, simplify complexity, and thus create a visual distillation of our experience.

Insights from traditional landscape painting, drawing and perception exercises, group discussions, and my individual guidance form the core elements of this workshop. You’ll choose your favorite medium—one suitable for use on the go (e.g., ballpoint pen, charcoal, pencil, watercolor, fineliner, or colored pencils).

The workshop is open to anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors, wants to sharpen their perception, and wishes to expand and deepen their drawing skills. It is designed for both those with drawing experience and those who simply want to discover drawing as a way to slow down and connect with nature.
