Miriam lives with her friend Ida for a few months and goes to the Winterstein School with her during this time. She knows nothing about the magical community. But on her very first day at school, Mr. Morrison gives the class two new magical animals: Max receives the owl Muriel and Miriam the energetic leprechaun Fitzgeraldo. Then Ida finds out by chance that the Winterstein School is to be closed. Ida and her class realize that the upcoming school challenge is their last chance to save the school and the magical community. To her horror, Miriam learns that her actual school is also taking part in the competition. Under pressure from her old class, Miriam finds herself caught between two sides. Can the Winterstein School win the school challenge? And can the class prevent the school from being closed?
