TROP CHAUD - In the presence of a protagonist
CH 2025 / Director: Benjamin Weiss

The spectre of climate change is haunting us. Instead of standing idly by, the climate seniors take the Swiss government to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) - on the grounds that it is not protecting the health of the population enough. Eight years later, in April 2024, the ECHR delivered its spectacular ruling: climate protection is a human right. Despite this triumph of the senior climate activists, Switzerland is still fumbling over the ruling in this gripping court thriller.
The activists and their legal team, legal and scientific companions and an NGO campaigner talk about the reasons for their commitment. The film discusses fundamental questions about democracy, the rule of law and global climate justice, without losing sight of the fact that the fight against climate change is a complex and difficult task to solve.

In the presence of one of the protagonists.
