Event Sent

Führung durch die Lataria Sent

Description

Lataria Sent is part of the Sent Alpine and Alpine Dairy Cooperative. The cooperative consists of all milk-producing farmers in Sent and operates the "Lataria" consisting of a milk collection point, cheese dairy and shop.
The dairy farms in Sent produce around 1.3 million kg of milk annually. Some of it is processed in the small cheese dairy into cheeses such as Sentiner, Mutschli or Albin, or into yoghurt, quark, etc. In summer, the young cattle Halp Fenga and the dairy cows Telf/Spadla and Alp Prà San Flurin are also operated.
The milk on Alp Prà San Flurin is processed into cheese and butter on site and then sold in the shop in Sent.
Part of the milk from Alp Telf/Spadla reaches the cheese dairy directly from the alp via the milk pipeline
Would you like to take a look behind the scenes of the "Lataria" (or "Khascharia") and see where the milk is processed into cheese and yoghurt? Would you like to breathe in the scent of a cheese cellar? Are you interested in why only part of the milk produced by dairy farms is processed into cheese etc. and why?
Space in the "Chäsi" and in the cheese cellar is limited, so registration is necessary – we can offer around 40 interested people this insight into a Senter cultural asset. Registration at sturnels@gmx.ch or via the contact form on our homepage https://www.sent-sturnels.ch/kontakt/
