MI'AMIA Konzert am Hochalpinen Institut Ftan

The HIF is pleased to welcome the duo MI'AMIA, which is known far beyond the canton's borders, to the auditorium. Behind MI'AMIA are the musicians Sidonia Caviezel and Nina Mayer, who bring a unique mixture of tradition and modernity to the stage with their two-part songs.
The two met by chance in 2016 at a choir concert - it quickly became clear that their voices harmonize perfectly and that they also share a special connection on a personal level. This encounter not only led to a close friendship, but also to the name of their duo: Mi'amia – "my friend".
Their music is a tribute to the Romance language and the Engadine. All lyrics are written in Vallader and combine sensitive, poetic words with catchy melodies. "Chara, bella Engiadina" sounds like a musical declaration of love to the homeland, while other compositions take up themes such as nature, family and everyday life.
Listeners can expect a varied program between traditional sounds and modern pop elements. Sometimes tender and melancholic, sometimes buoyant and rhythmic – but always carried by the harmoniously merging voices and the palpable cordiality of the two artists.
With their first album "VITA", which will be released in August, MI'AMIA present their entire musical range. Supported by accordion and piano, a sound unfolds that is both familiar and surprisingly new – a real experience for music lovers.
