Animated infographics on the topic of mineral water were created in cooperation with Panta Rhei. They visually support background information and explanations and can be used on websites or also in documents.
To offer guests an insight into the past of the Chasa Carola, historical pictures have been hung up. In the spring room of the building, where the Carola spring flows, there used to be a branch of Stöckenius. This is now documented with two pictures and an advertisement from that time.
Successful completion of NRP project and start of project continuation
The NRP* project «Overall concept for (Mineral) Water Positioning», supported by the canton, came to an end at the end of November 2020 and was successfully completed at the beginning of 2021. During this time, smaller and larger measures were implemented and, above all, the topic of (mineral) water was better anchored in the region. The foundations have been laid on which further work can now be done. Although Scuol's mineral water has already become more visible and tangible, the topic itself as well as the offers and experiences are to become much better known.
The last major measure for the revision of the mineral water trails Scuol is the production and installation of the new information boards. They have a new look and show the latest values of the most important ingredients of the 20 mineral waters. In addition, the section on «Particularities» has been largely rewritten. So it's worth rediscovering the mineral springs and the associated information.
Uniform water carafe in restaurants and for purchase
In various hotels and restaurants in the holiday region Engadin Scuol Zernez as well as in Val Müstair you will come across the water carafe with the triangle – the symbol for the element water. The carafe was developed together with the UNESCO Biosfera Engiadina Val Müstair and the regional nature park Biosfera Val Müstair. The water carafe draws attention to the diversity of water in the region and raises awareness of the value of water. The carafe also helps to show that the topic of water is of great importance here. As a gift or for use in your own home, the water carafe can be purchased for CHF 15.00 at the Scuol guest information office.
Just in time for the summer, the integrated water feature was installed at the landmark in front of the Bogn Engiadina mineral baths. It runs in phases during the day as a closed circuit. The water feature brings the landmark to life and draws even more attention to Bogn Engiadina with its splashing sound.
The folding map of the mineral water trails Scuol is also available in English
To make it easier for English-speaking guests to experience the mineral springs, the folding map for the mineral water trails Scuol has been translated into English. The appearance and contents are the same as for the German folding map.
Media event: Anniversary review and project status
A media event was held to look back on the anniversary «650 years experience of mineral water» and at the same time to examine various results of the (mineral) water positioning and to present further measures. The regional media showed great interest and reported on the implementation and efforts to strengthen the mineral water positioning.
The «Bogn Engiadina» mineral baths have been given a landmark in front of the entrance on the Stradun, so that it can no longer be overlooked that the Bogn Engiadina is located here. In collaboration with the design agency «Bellprat Partner», the staging was created that prominently points out the mineral bath. The rusting steel symbolises the mineral water, whose deposits also cause orange-red discolouration. During the summer months, the landmark also receives a water feature that makes the connection to the water even clearer.
As part of the 650th anniversary «Experience Mineral Water», it was possible to implement the poster exhibition «From the History of Spa Tourism», which shows old advertising posters from the first half of the 20th century. The advertising was aimed at attracting new spa guests from all over the world. In addition to the posters, there are photos and exhibits of the «Büvetta Tarasp» drinking hall – the place that stands for the beginning of spa tourism in the Lower Engadin – all around and up to the area of the ticket offices.
The signposts for individual sources have also arrived
The mineral springs that are not in one of the three new circular routes of the Scuol mineral water trails have been given their own signposts. The brown signposts with the mineral springs mentioned by name show the way away from the circular trails to the springs, which are a kind of dead end. Mineral springs that are further away are also marked with the brown signposts and are thus easier to find.
The new folding map of the mineral water trails Scuol have arrived
To improve the presentation of the new circular routes, the project participants decided to replace the previous brochure with a folding map. The routes should be easier to find and the map gives a good overview of all communicated mineral springs. On the back are the route descriptions and further information about the mineral water and water experiences.
