Swisstainable is a campaign organised by Switzerland Tourism and the Swiss Tourism Federation. The aim is to provide an overview of the various sustainability labels. To this end, various labels are categorised into different levels.

Swisstainable Level I - committed

Level I – committed

Level I - committed are companies that do not yet have sustainability certification but are committed to sustainability and would like to develop this further.

Swisstainable Level II - engaged

Level II – engaged

Level II - engaged are companies that already have sustainability certification.

Swisstainable Level III - leading

Level III - leading

The Level III - leading are beacons of the programme and can demonstrate comprehensive sustainability certification, which is regularly reviewed.

Sustainable destination - TourCert

The TourCert certification is an internationally recognised standard for sustainable tourism. It assesses companies on the basis of ecological, social and economic criteria in order to review and improve their sustainability performance. The Engadin Scuol Zernez and Val Müstair destinations were the first in Switzerland to be certified with the TourCert label.

Mountaineering villages are quiet places dedicated to gentle tourism. Their potential lies in their unspoilt nature, the high-quality natural and cultural landscape and the diverse mountain sports opportunities. The initiative emphasises the respectful treatment of the mountains and promotes regional value creation. Our villages of Guarda, Ardez and Lavn are part of the initiative.
