Tarasp
The slightly different Engadine village

Description

Tarasp lies at the foot of Piz Pisoc on the «other», the right side of the valley. "Different" is the widely scattered village with its ten settlements in many ways. It differs not only structurally, denominationally or scenically from its neighbors. Built in 1040, the castle dominates the image of the Lower Engadine and the history of the former Austrian exclave as well as the strongest mineral water springs in the region. The immediate proximity to the striking three-thousanders, the access to the national park, the picturesque Lai Nair, the Clemgia gorge or the impressive Val Plavna are further strong arguments to visit the "other" side of the valley.
