With music, dance, clownish slapstick, poetry and linguistic diversity, the Compagnia Za-Zà presents a classic of theatre literature:
Molière's Tartuffe or the Hypocrite is a light-footed, highly topical comedy full of situational comedy and explosive content, which amuses, inspires and inspires to this day. It shows the "Tartuffisation" of a small household that stands for the world. With wit and passion, she opposes the imminent seizure of power by the hypocrite and fraudster Tartuffe.
The Compagnia Za-Zà plays dynamic movement theatre on its mobile travelling stage in the spirit of the Commedia dell'arte.
But poetry and the dreamlike, quiet and tender moments also waft through Za-Zà's Molière. Her Tartuffe shows an extravagant, explosive world in which foolishness lives next door to each other with ice-cold strategy, where anxious love, honest innocence and courageous confessions are just as entangled in wigs as cunning and deceit; a world that
between being and appearance, play and reality, flight of fancy and fall.
The Herrliberg cultural workers Annina Gieré and Carlos Becker - directors of Compagnia Za-Zà - bring together 9 artists from various language areas and landscapes from Switzerland to Canada to Chile for Tartuffe. Za-Zàs Tartuffe is a play for young and old.
As part of its summer tour through 5 Swiss cantons with 21 performances, the Compagnia Za-Zà is particularly looking forward to the venues in the Engadine, as Annina Gieré's great-grandfather was an important driver of the recognition of the Romansh language as the fourth national language.
