With the Swisstrack following the traces of the lead and silver mine workers. The route takes us along where, over 330 years ago, ore was hand-mined at Mot Madlain.

Description

The route is on the edge of the national park and leads us from S-charl upstream along the Clemgia stream. On the way to Plan San Martaila, we pass beautiful forests and meadows. Passing Plan d’Immez and Alp Praditschöl, we reach Alp Astras.

The return is on the same route.

  • From S-charl along the Clemgia stream
  • past Plan San Martaila, Plan d'Immez, Alp Praditschöl to Alp Astras
  • Return on the same path.

Public Transport

  • By the Rhaetian Railway (from Chur, Prättigau or Upper Engadin) or by the PostBus (from Martina, Sent or Tarasp) hourly to Scuol-Tarasp station
  • Continue by PostBus to S-charl

Arrival information

  • From the north: via Landquart – Klosters by car shuttle through the Vereina tunnel (Selfranga - Sagliains) or via Flüelapass into the Lower Engadin on H27
  • From the east: via Landeck / Austria towards St. Moritz on H27
  • From the south: via Reschenpass (Nauders-Martina) or Ofenpass (Val Müstair-Zernez) on H27

Parken

  • At the valley station there are 2 signposted wheelchair parking spaces in front of the HG construction business - continue by PostBus to S-charl
  • In S-charl there are several longitudinal parking spaces along the road that can be used with a wheelchair.
