Description
From the former mining village of S-charl, where silver and lead were once mined, a rather short and partly steep hike leads to Mot Madlain. Here, a magnificent view of the surrounding valleys such as Val Tavrü and Val S-charl entices. In summer, the diverse flora with Edelweiss clusters can be admired.

Directions
From the village of S-charl, the path leads from the bridge at the village entrance towards Ils Chomps, gently ascending through the forest. Along the way, you pass the remains of a mining facility. Towards the tree line, the hike becomes quite steep upwards before flattening out again on the last stretch to Mot Madlain. The return down to S-charl is via the same route.

Public Transport
- By Rhaetian Railway (from Chur, Landquart/Prättigau or from Upper Engadine) hourly to Scuol-Tarasp station
- By PostBus (from Martina, Sent, Ftan or Tarasp) hourly to Scuol-Tarasp station
- Then continue by PostBus with hourly connection to the S-charl PostBus stop
Arrival information
From the north: via Landquart – Klosters by car shuttle through the Vereina tunnel (Selfranga - Sagliains) or over the Flüela pass to Scuol. The summer village of S-charl is reachable from Scuol in about 25 minutes.
From the east: via Landeck / Austria towards Scuol and then turn into the side valley Val S-charl.
Due to the partly narrow road conditions, we recommend traveling from Scuol to S-charl by PostBus.
