Trains presents exclusively found archive footage from the 20th century and re-edits it. Within 81 minutes, the viewer gets an insight into almost a whole century of human history. From the construction of railroads and tracks to the first passengers and two world wars. Even though the characters and surroundings change, one thing quickly becomes clear: history repeats itself over and over again.
