The Macun Lake District has been part of the Swiss National Park for 25 years. 23 lakes, crystalline rocks, rare plant species and impressive rock glaciers make Macun one of the pearls of the national park. On this special anniversary excursion, you will learn more about the history and past use of Macun and its inclusion in the national park from the former mayor of Lavin. In addition, local researchers will report on their work on the waters of Macun, their organisms and climate-related changes. The costs for the excursion are covered by the National Park.

Meeting point: 9.15 a.m. hiking meeting at Zernez train station, 9.30 a.m. Plazza gronda in Lavin (in front of Htl. Piz Linard).

Altitude difference: ascent and descent from Alp Zeznina each about 800 m, total hiking distance 9 km.
