The last hotel director of the Grandhotel Waldhaus is biased by the claim of a clairvoyant that he is to blame for the unexplained fire of the legendary cultural jewel. In order to free himself from this burden, he tries to expose a former employee as an arsonist together with a former major of the Graubünden cantonal police. As a result, he himself becomes the focus of the investigation - and is confronted with the truth.
