From Bach's expressive sonata BWV 1023 to the touching Guggisberglied to Dohnányi's Ruralia Hungarica, a programme between melancholy and exuberant joie de vivre unfolds. Irish melodies and gypsy jazz round off the evening – a tribute to the power of music to make the past tangible in the now.
