Enjoy rather than forget – sheep and goat. The culinary comeback

Alpabzug von der Alp Suot nach Guarda
The forgotten delicacy from the Alps. High up, where animals graze on herb-rich pastures and nature sets the pace, something special is created: sheep and goat products from the mountains of Graubünden – full of character, sustainably produced and still largely undiscovered in culinary terms.
Schafherde

Together with the parks of the canton of Grisons, we take you on an enjoyable journey to discover a traditional speciality that is unjustly overlooked. Authentic flavours of the mountains. Honest, surprising and unforgettably good.

Sheep and goats have shaped Alpine life for centuries. They maintain the cultural landscape, promote biodiversity and provide high-quality meat and dairy products. Nevertheless, their products are rarely found in the kitchen.

The culinary journey of discovery through Graubünden aims to change this. From 7 to 12 October 2025, selected parks in the canton of Grisons will be hosting special round table discussions.

An experience for all the senses

Selected restaurants showcase the diversity of these products in carefully prepared menus featuring sheep or goat meat. The dinners are accompanied by short speeches from the kitchen, agriculture and park management. This highlights how closely animal husbandry, landscape conservation and tourism are linked in the Alps.
