Description

The tour starts on a slightly ascending road from the exit of Sent (1440 metres above sea level). The path first leads along a tree-lined avenue toward the east. Here you can enjoy beautiful views into the valley, where the Inn meanders leisurely through the river bed and Piz Lischana is enthroned on the opposite side of the valley. From the PostBus stop Sent, Tschern (closed in winter; please note that the path is closed from here if there is danger of avalanches), the path is relatively flat but continues along the road through the forest to the Val Sinestra Hotel via a few bends. The former spa hotel is embedded in the steep slopes of the valley, where the Brancla has eroded deep into the earth's surface over the centuries. It is worth taking a look inside the hotel, as the whole building still presents itself in the architectural style of the early 20th century. A little below the former spa house, directly on the banks of the river, you will find the affiliated mountain inn. The Bündnerstube is open during the winter months, where you can have coffee or tea in self-service. We return to Sent along the same route (from Sent half-hourly connections back to Scuol). There are various paths to follow in Sent at the end of the magical route.

Geheimtipp

In Sent it is worth taking a few minutes to walk through the village with its inviting squares and look up to the sky. The famous Sent gables date back to the 19th century, when many villagers abroad (mostly in Italy and Austria) hoped for a better economic life as confectioners and thus shaped the West Tyrolean flair of this village.
