Trai(l)s Vals – 1. Etappe: Samnaun – Scuol

First stage of the cross-valley mountain bike route over the notorious Fimber Pass with lots of alpine trails.
Stony, alpine and with a brilliant view over the mountains is the first stage of the "Trai(l)s Vals" mountain bike tour. Pure, alpine trails! The first 360° panorama awaits you on the Greitspitz after the first steeper ascent. Afterwards it goes on the smuggler's trail over the ridge to the Salaaser head, where a flow trail awaits in the direction of the Zeblas Pass. Here starts a passage over scree along the mountain flank of the "Piz Rots" with a carrying passage to the Fuorcla Val Gronda afterwards. Once you reach the ridge, you are right on the border between Switzerland and Austria. The efforts are rewarded with a flowing descent of the S3 category and a brilliant view of the alpine nature. This is followed by a partially blocked trail down towards the Heidelberger-Hütte, but before you reach the hut, the trail leads left towards Fuorcla Val Fenga - the Fimber Pass. With a last carrying passage you earn the approximately 6 km trail descent to the hamlet of Griosch. The almost 800 meters difference in altitude is clearly evident in this passage - what still shows stony and alpine character at the top is slowly but surely becoming a green mountain idyll again. The last single trail passages of the day lead via Hof Zuort and Val Sinestra to Sent/Scuol.
<a href="https://www.heidelbergerhuette.at/" target="_blank">Heidelberger Hütte and Hof Zuort are ideal for a stop for refreshments (note opening hours).
On high-altitude sections, snowfields are possible until the summer months.
The tour was evaluated in favorable weather conditions, the current weather conditions and weather forecasts must be observed before the start of the tour.
